The Cooper's Fall Trail part of The Great Trail is just a 25 minute walk (5 minute drive) from the lake house. The 14.8 kilometer moderate trail passes through, excellent Canadian Shield terrain, ponds,  forests and swamps. You can do a 2 hour loop hike from and to the lake house. Check out photo below.

Gravenhurst, known as the Gateway to Muskoka, has a vibrant arts and entertainment community with more than 50 lakes and countless trails and parks. Visitors enjoy the Muskoka Wharf with almost half a mile of boardwalk along Lake Muskoka. The historic downtown is home to shops, restaurants and the famous circa 1901 Gravenhurst Opera House. Muskoka's famous Steamships and Discovery Centre and Bethune Memorial House National site are just a few of the many attractions.

EXPLORE BRACEBRIDGE

Built around a waterfall on the Muskoka River in the centre of town, Bracebridge is known for its other nearby waterfalls, Wilson's Falls, High Falls, etc. It was first incorporated in 1875.

 

It is the main centre of tourism for the Muskokas and is home to historical sites, such as the Clock Tower, Woodchester Villa, and the Silver Bridge, which joins Manitoba Street with Ecclestone Drive. It is also the home of the Muskoka Brewery.
